Antique Military WWI Porcelain Heated Officers Mess Plate stamped Broad Arrow
A superb item for the Military collector. This enamel plate dates back to the Victorian era and WWI. The white enamel plate has a copper bottom vessel for inserting boiling which then keeps your plate and food warm. There is the British Army property stamp on the bottom of the plate - broad arrow. The plate has handles for easy maneuvering. It would be brilliant for camping or on a yacht or simply as a display item.
Condition: Great antique condition with wear commensurate with age and use. The porcelain is sound, with the usual age and wear on it. It has the crackled effect and a couple of stains on it - stains are slight, one minute nibble on the plate - only noticeable on close examination. I tested the plate - poured boiling water in the valve and let it stand on a paper towel. The heat is incredible - an antique that still works today, with no leaks.

Footnote :
Antique or vintage items have been used and as most antique dealers would say "PRE-LOVED", they will show signs of wear which is commensurate with age. Now this will appeal to some as it authenticates its age.
I will always try to list all faults found with each object to the best of my ability and photos form part of the illustrative narrative.
All vintage used items are sold "as is". If in doubt please ask questions before you make your purchase, I am always happy to answer and send additional photos if required.
